My individual work has taken a turn towards creating Portraits of people known and unknown. These staged portraits are painstakingly calculated and executed, all the interest lies in the relationship of the background and the subject. The attempt is to give the subject a biographical imagery that his or herself engenders. These photographs become a microscope or a magnifying glass for the subject as he or she takes a stroll with me in the process. They look deeper into it, giving clues to personal mysteries or links to past, present and future, sometimes revealed to me, sometimes quietly to themselves!
